| Creative Visions Foundation |
| Creative Visions Foundation is an organization that I've very passionate about. CVF supports "creative activists," or people who use the power of media and the arts to catalyze positive change in the world. The foundation partners with creative activists through fiscal sponsorship, mentorship and outreach programs to develop, thrive and promote vital social change. CVF was launched by Kathy Eldon and Amy Eldon Turteltaub about a decade ago. They were inspired by the life of Dan Eldon, their son and brother. He was an artist, adventurer and activist killed in Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993 in the height of the Somali famine. At the time, he was covering the conflict there as a photojournalist for Reuters News Agency. He was 22-years-old. I'll never forget the first time I spoke with Kathy and CVF Vice-President of Productions and Outreach, Joey Borgogna in 2008. I was a graduating senior in college, and looking for an internship. Only, the day before, I had gotten an internship with MySpaceTV in Beverly Hills. When I told her I loved news, writing and editing video, Kathy simply said, "Sometimes people just fall into your lap when you need them." I quickly agreed to meet with Joey to learn more about CVF and was blown away at the great work it does. Over the years, I've had the privilege of writing and producing a handful of promotional videos for Creative Visions to use in its outreach efforts. Plus, I've gotten the chance to meet some amazing people along the way. To learn more about Creative Visions Foundation, just click on its logo on the left. ...and when I say I love dance, I mean it. My two all-time favorite music videos, solely for the dancing, are Beyonce's "Single Ladies" and Janet Jackson's "All Nite (Don't Stop)."
Only problem: embedding is disabled on all YouTube videos of "All Nite"... so you'll get another great Janet dance video instead: "If." Oh, c'mon, you know it brings back memories for ya.
